Green Easter

On this rainy Easter Sunday, I look out over the grey skies of the Pacific Northwest as the rain drops drip down off the window frame. Spring has come to the NW and the rain makes it possible for all the green to sprout forth. Each rain drop making its journey from the ground to the sky and then back down again, natures wonderful recycling circle.

In my town recycling is a matter of fact, but in many town across America is it not. Without basic recycling of all that we can, we will only face more dificult times ahead. The rain water the NW takes for granted (and sometimes dislikes) may become a future resource of untold value without thoughtful use and recycling.

Simple tasks such as turning the water off while you brush your teeth or taking shorter showers will not only benefit the user with a smaller utility bill, but also help the world in general down the road. With the billions of people already on this planet and the more coming daily, we must remember that even a simple drop of water is a resource worth recycling.

Happy Easter all and don't eat too much chocolate.
